7. Mbappé was the youngest player in the history of the Monaco football club
Mbappe joined Monaco at the age of 14, and at the age of 16 he began to play for the squad in December 2015. Henry Thierry, the manager at the time, was the club’s youngest player ever. Later on, he broke another of Thierry’s records by scoring for Monaco as the team’s youngest player.
All of this served as a buildup to his World Cup performance, and his early success has not gone ignored. He was listed as one of the top 25 teenagers in the world by TIME magazine in 2018.
